Areas in the southern part of Thailand affected by the 2004 tsunami are working under the Thai Tsunami Project which uses SAORI Hand-weaving as occupational therapy. Managed by a buddhist group, the project not only lifts the spirit of the tsunami victims but also provides them with income opportunity and develops their self-reliance. Made of recycled yarns, it results in a beautiful line of expressive and playful pillow covers.
